Morecambe Bay

Morecambe Bay - Furness Line
Look out over the panoramic sweep of Morecambe Bay to the Lakeland hills beyond. Stroll along the golden sands of Morecambe beach, dipping your toe in the bracing sea. Have a coffee or an icecream in one of the cafés lining the seafront, or visit the Eric Morecambe statue which looks out across the Promenade. See the art influences of the Tern project – a series of installations on the Prom, and the art deco façade of the lovingly restored Midland Hotel.

For family fun, there is a four screen cinema, bowling alley and amusements - but nothing is better than a sunny day with a sandy beach and waves to splash in!

Morecambe's charms are going from strength to strength and it is the perfect place for families to enjoy a traditional seaside fun holiday, or for walkers and birdwatchers to enjoy the unique beauty of the Bay.

More development is planned with the restoration of the Victoria Pavillion (also known as the Winter Gardens) and the central promenade area.

After exploring Morecambe, why not go northwards along the coast towards the interesting town of Carnforth? Or find out about the historic city of Lancaster, just 10 minutes away on the train.
